A traffic signal will also be installed at the intersection of Sooner Road and Conference Drive. In preparation for the increased traffic at this location, the City of Edmond will widen Sooner Road to four lanes just north of the area. “Ever since moving to northeast Edmond, we have missed the convenience of having a grocery store close to home. ![]() “I have been anxiously waiting for Crest to begin building at Sooner and Covell since it was originally announced,” said Shawna Dixon, a resident of the Iron Horse Ranch neighborhood. Over the next five years, the Sooner and Covell Crest became one of the most asked about projects as nearby residents remained hopeful that construction would soon commence. However, the project was put on hold as Crest completed the construction of a Yukon location and awaited the completion of the widening of Covell Road in the area. Initially, a site plan was approved for the Sooner and Covell location in May 2017. The official start date for construction has not been released. The building will be approximately 100,000 square feet. This shortened name brought a new image with a fresh start to their store.Approximately 25 years after the original Edmond location of Crest Foods opened on the southeast corner of 15th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, construction is slated to begin on a second Edmond location of the popular grocery store.Īt the June 27 Edmond City Council meeting, the council approved the site plan for the new Crest Fresh Market located west of Sooner Road and north of Covell Road. In order to save customers time, while writing checks, Nick shortened the name to Crest derived from the Ridgecrest shopping center. In 1964, they moved their operation to a new location in the Ridgecrest shopping center on Reno Ave. Nick and Cherry expanded their family business in Midwest City. ![]() Nick and Cherry were very proud that both of their sons decided to join them in the family business. ![]() They worked side by side to grow their business and raise their children Gary, Bruce, and Sydney. Nick and Cherry both came from a deep-rooted Lebanese heritage that pushed them to rebuild their lives with the freedom they deserved.
